Happy Anniversary to Brazos River Valley
Recently the Brazos River Valley Chapter celebrated their fifth anniversary in serving the Fort Worth and Tarrant County community. This chapter, under the graceful leadership of chapter coordinator Katie Fry, has continued to shine even through difficulties around COVID and some crazy weather. Ashley Razo, Regional Marketing Manager for Academy, gifted this chapter with $5,000 in products and gift cards so they may continue serving the community of veterans, first responders and their families.
“We believe so strongly in this mission,” says Katie. “My family and I have personally received major benefits from our kayak fishing wellness program, and are honored to continue our founder’s mission. Jim Dolan was special to us, and we could not be happier to further his vision.”
Katie and the team are so grateful for Academy’s generosity, and will put the funds to great use continuing to serve veterans, first responders and their families in the 2022 season.
Strong Veteran Ties
The Fort Hood chapter held their Veterans Day event on November 6th. Steve Lam, Academy Regional Marketing Manager, worked with the Killeen Academy store manager to deliver over $1,000 in goods and gift cards to support the Fort Hood chapter for this event and the future.
“Our community is very supportive of our military and first responders,” says Frank Aguilar, Fort Hood Chapter Coordinator. “Having such great support from organizations like Academy is so important. We have equipment we really needed and are able to provide a better experience at our events. We are very grateful to have Academy as a partner.”
Academy Sports and Outdoors has been a long-time supporter of the Heroes on the Water mission. Even during a difficult year like 2020, Regional Marketing Manager Mike Reynolds provided thousands of dollars to our Northeast Florida chapter in both gift cards and products, supported our inaugural Jim Dolan Memorial Tournament, and provided our support team with additional gift cards to utilize for events for 2021.
“Mike, Ashley and Steve show the heart of Academy every day,” says Laura Armbruster. “We know we have a great partnership with them and are looking forward to furthering our relationship to serve more veterans, first responders and their families in the coming years.”
