You Don’t Have To Carry It Alone

You Don’t Have To Carry It Alone

For many in law enforcement, the job doesn’t end when the shift does – what you carry doesn’t stay at work.

Heroes on the Water is a nonprofit that provides kayak fishing events for veterans, active-duty military, law enforcement officers, first responders, and their families in local communities across the country.

No experience needed. No pressure to talk. Just time on the water, where some of that weight can ease up, even for a little while.

Meet a Few of Our Law Enforcement Participants this Police Week

Mike Libertini
Western Connecticut Chapter

Michael Libertini is the Deputy Chief of Police in a Western Connecticut police agency with more than two decades in law enforcement and a strong focus on officer wellness and peer support. He started the local Heroes on the Water chapter to give fellow officers, first responders, and veterans a place to reset and reconnect.

Jeremy Eaton
Chicago Chapter

Jeremy Eaton is a Detective with the Joliet Police Department and a former U.S. Marine, continuing a lifelong commitment to service. He founded the Heroes on the Water Chicago chapter to help veterans and first responders experience the same sense of calm and connection he found on the water.

Jessica Ware
Music City Chapter

Jessica Ware is a Captain with the Metro Nashville Police Department who leads units focused on community safety and support. Through Heroes on the Water, she values the chance to step away from the demands of the job, connect with others, and spend meaningful time with her son.

A Place to Reset

Across the country, Heroes on the Water chapters (blue dots on the map below) are creating space for law enforcement officers to step away and reset. These volunteer-led chapters host monthly events where you can get on the water, enjoy time outdoors with your family, connect with others who understand what you carry, and come back as often as you’d like.
