Ultimate generosity benefiting our Wounded Veterans and their Families
To put into words the camaraderie, generosity, fun loving, and just an incredible group of people is impossible. So many thanks have to go out to Aris at Mariner Sails for organizing, planning, underwriting and implementing a perfect day at Lake Lavon!
Heroes On The Water – DFW Chapter – Spring Kayak Fishing GTG
What a day of events with over 100 in attendance – it was a very busy day for such a good cause. Mariner Sails had the ability to demo almost every brand of kayak in the marketplace today, fun games for the adults and the kids, great informational seminars (Water Safety by the Army Corps Engineers, How to pack your Kayak for camping by Mountain Sports, How to rig and shoot video for your next kayak fishing adventure by Robert Fields, and learn to Sail in less than 2 minutes on a Hobie Adventure or Tandem Island by Steve Oxenford), a great lunch cooked by Jim and Sally Dolan, live music and an incredible fundraising event for the DFW Chapter of Heroes On The Water with a record amount of money raised of $2,100+.
Our many thanks to Mariner Sails, Jerry Hamon – President Of Mariner Sails Kayak Fishing Club, Mountain Sports, Bass Pro Shop, Cabelas. The finest MfGs in the Kayak Fishing Accessories, YakAttack, Brute Coolers, Temple Fork Outfitters, Smith Optics, Torqueedo motors, Polar Bear Coolers, MTI Life Vests, and many others.
A special thanks for all the help expertise by Hobie Representatives Steve and Lisa Oxeford, Wilderness Systems representatives, Emile and Wilderness Pro staff Cody Carpenter. A special thanks to Mariner Sails Fishing Ambassadors, Todd Hiley, Robert Fields and Chris Payne for doing such a great job all day long in supporting the GTG. On behalf of our wounded veterans and their family members thank you for all that you do in supporting Heroes On The Water and giving us the opportunity of spreading the word and getting our wounded veterans and family members in kayaks and discovering the healing principles of kayak fishing and being close to the calming effects of the water and the outdoors. Paddle. Fish. Heal.
